Stapelia leendertziae

  • Product Info

Stapelia leendertziae, known as the Black Bell Stapelia or Carrion Flower, is a fascinating succulent prized for its large, dark maroon bell-shaped flowers. These blooms emit a distinctive carrion-like scent to attract pollinators, making it a unique and intriguing addition to any plant collection. Popular among succulent enthusiasts, it thrives in bright indoor spots and adds an exotic touch to homes.

  • Care guide:

    Light:
Stapelia leendertziae thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. It can handle some direct morning or late afternoon sun, especially in cooler months, but harsh midday rays may scorch its stems. A sunny windowsill or greenhouse spot is ideal.

    Watering:
This succulent prefers a “soak and dry” method. Water deeply when the soil is completely dry, especially during the active growing season (spring to early autumn). In winter, reduce watering significantly to prevent root rot. Always use a pot with drainage holes.

    Repotting:
Repot every 2–3 years or when the plant outgrows its container. Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix, ideally with added pumice or perlite. Be gentle—Stapelia stems can be delicate and break easily.

  • Nursery Pot Size:

    8cm
