Dischidia ruscifolia 'Million hearts'

  • Product Info

The Dischidia ruscifolia, affectionately known as the Million Hearts plant, is a charming, easy-going epiphyte native to the tropical rainforests of Asia. It gets its delightful nickname from its dense cascades of tiny, stiff, heart-shaped leaves that trail beautifully down the sides of a pot. It is an incredibly low-maintenance choice that brings a delicate, lush texture to any space.

  • Care guide:

    Light:
This plant loves bright, indirect sunlight. While it can handle a little bit of soft morning sun, harsh afternoon rays will scorch its delicate foliage.

    Water:
As an epiphyte (a plant that naturally grows on trees rather than in soil), it is prone to root rot if overwatered. Allow the potting medium to dry out almost completely between waterings. When the leaves look slightly wrinkled or feel less plump, it is time for a thorough soak.

    Tiny Blooms:
Under the right conditions, this plant will reward you with tiny, fragrant white flowers that nestle right between the heart-shaped leaves.

    Propagation:
It is incredibly easy to propagate. Simply snip a stem cutting, let it callus for a day, and press it into damp sphagnum moss or orchid bark.
