Crassula ovata 'Sunset'

  • Product Info

Crassula ovata ‘Sunset’, also known as the Sunset Jade Plant, is a popular succulent prized for its vibrant green leaves edged with bright red or orange hues, especially when exposed to plenty of sunlight. Its compact, tree-like form makes it a striking and low-maintenance addition to any indoor or outdoor garden.

  • Care guide:

    Light:
Crassula ovata 'Sunset' thrives in full sun, which enhances its vibrant leaf color, with shades of yellow, orange, and red appearing more prominently. Ensure it gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for the best color and growth. In lower light, the plant may become more green and leggy.

    Watering:
Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, as this succulent is highly drought-tolerant. Water thoroughly when the soil is dry to the touch, but avoid letting the plant sit in water to prevent root rot. In the winter months, reduce watering as the plant goes into dormancy and its water requirements decrease.

    Fertilizing:
Fertilize Crassula ovata 'Sunset' during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced fertilizer or one formulated for succulents. Fertilize every 4-6 weeks to encourage healthy growth and vibrant color. Avoid fertilizing in the fall and winter when the plant's growth slows down. Over-fertilizing can lead to stress and harm the plant.

  • Nursery Pot Size:

    12cm
