Alocasia 'cucullata'

Light:
Alocasia 'Calcutta' prefers bright, indirect light. It can handle some gentle morning sun but should be kept out of strong direct light, which can damage the leaves. Insufficient light may lead to leggy growth and smaller leaves.

Watering:
Water when the top layer of soil starts to dry out, keeping the soil consistently moist but never soggy. During winter, reduce watering as the plant's growth slows. Always ensure excess water can drain away to prevent root rot.

Soil and repotting:
Use a rich, well-draining potting mix with added materials like perlite, bark, or coco coir to improve aeration. Repot every 1–2 years or when the plant outgrows its pot. Spring is the best time to repot and refresh the soil.
