Alocasia Black Velvet

  • Product Info

Alocasia black velvet is a beautiful tropical houseplant that thrives in bright, indirect light. It prefers diffused light and should not be subjected to too much direct sunlight. These plants prefer to dry out slightly between waterings, and too much water can lead to soggy roots. Fertilize lightly during the growing.
  • Care guide:

    Light:
Prefers bright, indirect sunlight; can tolerate some shade but avoid low light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, so keep it in a well-lit spot for optimal growth.

    Watering:
Keep soil consistently moist during the growing season; water when the top inch feels dry. Leaves may droop if thirsty. In the fall and winter, reduce watering and allow the soil to dry out well between waterings.

    Soil:
Use a well-draining potting mix, such as aroid soil or a mix designed for tropical plants. Adding perlite or orchid bark can improve drainage and aeration.

    Fertilizing:
Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer during Spring and Summer to promote vigorous growth. Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter when the plant is dormant.

    Repotting:
Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Select a pot that is 1-2 inches larger in diameter, and refresh the soil to provide essential nutrients.

  • Nursery Pot Size:

    10cm
