Light:
Calathea Orbifolia thrives in bright, indirect light. This will help maintain its large, stunning round leaves with vibrant patterns. It can tolerate moderate shade, but direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the leaves and cause fading of the beautiful markings.
Watering:
Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Use filtered or distilled water to avoid chemicals that can damage the leaves. During the colder months, reduce watering, as the plant's growth slows. Ensure the plant is not sitting in water to prevent root rot.
Fertilizing:
Feed Calathea Orbifolia every 4–6 weeks during the spring and summer growing season with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Avoid fertilizing during the fall and winter months when the plant is not actively growing. Too much fertilizer can lead to leaf burn, so use it sparingly.
