With their unbelievably soft velvet leaves it's fair to say Calathea Warscewiczii are in a league of their own. Calathea love a warm and humid environment to look their best. Water regularly, as the top soil feels dry to the touch, and fertilize once a month in the growing season to be rewarded with frequent scrolls of new leaves. Calathea can be sensitive to hard water and chlorine, so ideally use rain or filtered water where possible to avoid crispy discoloured edges.

Light:
Calathea Jungle Velvet prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its rich, velvety foliage. It can tolerate lower light conditions but thrives best with consistent exposure to gentle light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves.

Watering:
Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Water when the top inch of soil feels slightly dry. Use filtered, distilled, or rainwater to prevent leaf damage caused by hard water. High humidity (above 50%) is crucial for its health; consider using a humidifier or a pebble tray.

Fertilizing:
Feed during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks. Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can cause leaf tip burn. Hold off on feeding during fall and winter when the plant’s growth slows naturally.
