  • Care guide:

    Light:
Place your fern leaf cactus in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct midday sun as it can scorch the stems, though morning or late afternoon sun is usually fine. Indoors, east- or north-facing windows are ideal, while south- or west-facing windows may need sheer curtains for protection. Low light can slow growth and reduce the frilled appearance of the stems.

    Watering:
During the growing season (spring and summer), water moderately, allowing the top 2–3 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. In fall and winter, reduce watering significantly. Always use well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes. Occasional misting can help maintain humidity, but avoid saturating the stems.

    Repotting:
Repot every 2–3 years or when roots become crowded, ideally in spring or early summer. Use a cactus or succulent soil mix with extra perlite for drainage. Handle the stems gently, as they are delicate and can break easily. After repotting, wait a few days before watering to allow any damaged roots to heal.
