Boston Fern

Nephrolepis exaltata

  • Product Info

An all-time classic, Boston Ferns are instantly recognisable for their overflowing abundance of fronds. Best kept in a humid room like a bathroom or kitchen and watered when the top soil begins to feel dry, it will tolerate low light but will thrive if kept in moderate indirect light.
  • Care guide:

    Light:
Boston ferns prefer bright, indirect light but can adapt to moderate shade. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the delicate fronds. An east- or north-facing window is ideal, providing enough light without overwhelming the plant.

    Watering:
Boston ferns thrive in consistently moist soil, especially in warmer months. Water when the top inch feels dry, and mist regularly to boost humidity, as these ferns love moisture. In fall and winter, reduce watering slightly, but do not let the soil dry out completely.

    Soil:
Use a well-draining, rich potting mix that retains moisture without becoming soggy. A blend of standard potting soil with added coco coir or perlite is ideal for retaining moisture while ensuring adequate drainage.

    Repotting:
Repot every 1-2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound.

  • Nursery Pot Size:

    12cm
